Oasis Brazil worked in the community of Miguel Badra, Sao Paulo from 2006-2008.  Through educational play activities and a family support programme, Oasis worked with over 80 children and 25 families.  Parents were helped to develop their care of and involvement with their children and staff also helped them to link in with training and services to improve their circumstances.  Children who were at risk from the negative effects of poverty have been helped to value themselves and each other, to explore important themes such as love, friendship and trust and to have fun  - something which is not to be taken for granted for many disadvantaged children around the world.
